Using EndNote's CWYW Tool in Google Docs
EndNote's "Cite While You Write" tool allows you to automatically add citations and create bibliographies directly in your manuscript. Prior to using this feature, you will need to manually add the extension to your toolbar. If you have not done so, please visit the "Setup" page for more information.
Once you have added and opened the extension, EndNote will appear as a pop up on the right-hand side of your document.
The EndNote tab has multiple components. Some of the major ones include:
My References: Where you will find the "Insert Citation" and "Update Citations" tabs as well as your groups.
- All References: This is where you will find your "groups".
- Insert Citation: Allows you to insert a citation where your cursor is.
- Update Citations : Will automatically create your bibliography.
Manage Citations: Where you will find the "Update Citations and Bibliography" tab.
- Update Citations and Bibliography: Will update the reference if you have made any changes to it in your library.
Citation Style: Allows you to change the format of your citations (ex. APA to AMA).
