Connect to Resources: Link to Library Resources

The Library has transitioned to OpenAthens as the authentication tool to access most library-subscribed online resources.

To create a link to library-subscribed online resources such as books, journals, you will need to use the OpenAthens Link Generator Tool.

To use the OpenAthens link Generator:

1. Go to https://go.openathens.net/generate/mssm.edu/81008449   
2. Paste the URL for the resource you would like to use into the "Enter your links" field. You can paste multiple links separated by a space or new line. 
3. Click Enter.
4. The tool should generate an OpenAthens link to the resource that you could copy and paste wherever you need to use it (Blackboard, syllabus, email, etc.). 

Links with the EZProxy prefix “http:eresources.library.mssm.edu...” will no longer work after December 31, 2023. 

If any library resource URLs / links contain the prefix "eresources.library.mssm.edu" you can use the OpenAthens Generator Tool to generate new URLs / links for library resources. Follow the steps below to update a URL / link:

To use the OpenAthens link Generator: 

1. Go to https://go.openathens.net/generate/mssm.edu/81008449 

2. Paste the URL for the resource you like to link you would like to update without the EZProxy prefix anywhere in the link. 

3. Click Enter.   

4. The tool should generate an OpenAthens link to the resource that you could copy and paste wherever you need to use it (Blackboard, syllabus, PEAK, email, etc.).
