Library Spaces: General Study Zones

Classroom & Computer Lab Accessibility Information

Classrooms meet physical accessibility standards and are equipped with advanced video capabilities through Zoom classroom equipment which enables inclusion of remote instructors and learners.

Cameras enable a 180-degree view of the room to enhance virtual engagement. The Zoom equipment supports features such as content recording, closed captioning, and real-time translations into multiple languages.

An AI companion is available to summarize content or answer questions which instructors/meeting hosts can enable to support participant needs. When enabled, Zoom offers a transcript of the meeting or lesson allowing the user to return to the content and search the transcript for exactly where a concept was discussed.

The online learning environment provided by the Blackboard learning management system (learn.mssm.edu) and the Echo360 course video hosting site comply with federal Section 508 accessibility standards. This ensures students can access online course content with screen readers and other assistive devices such as keyboard navigation.
