PubMed: Search Details

The Search Details box allows you to see how PubMed has interpreted your basic keyword search.

To view the Search Details,

1. Run your search and navigate to the advanced page:

2. Scroll down to the History and Search Details box and click the > under Details:

The Search Details box shows how PubMed has automatically translated your search. "Heart attack" maps to the MeSH term "myocardial infarction". In addition to searching the MeSH term, PubMed searches both synonyms in all fields.
