Finding the Journal Impact Factors For the Top Journals in Your Field
1. Access the InCites Journal Citation Reports database. If you are off-campus you will be prompted to login with your Mount Sinai username and password.
2. On the InCites Journal Citation Reports homepage, you can browse by journals, categories, or create a custom report. You can also search by individual journal name. To narrow the list to journals in your field, click on either Browse by Journal or Browse by Category, and then use the Select Categories option along the left-hand side of the page. Click the checkbox next to the category (or categories) for which you wish to view the journal impact factor information. Once you have made your selection(s), you need to scroll down and click submit.
3. Make sure that Journals By Rank is the highlighted tab. You can now see the highest impact factor journals within your chosen category (or categories), listed in descending order.
Note: InCites Journal Citation Reports includes data for over 8,000 scientific journals, but does not include every journal published.
