This section provides a series of educational materials aimed to support researchers, the IACUC and anyone else involved in participating, facilitating and overseeing the use of animals in research.
- eIACUC Training Video (PEAK)This PEAK training module goes over how to build a protocol, creating a research team, creating team substances, team procedures and how to submit a protocol to the IACUC.
To access the training videos, sign-in to PEAK with your Mount Sinai credentials and scroll down to "Research". Under research, locate "eIACUC Training Resources" and select "click here to start this course". - The Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW)OLAW provides a variety of resources for researchers and the IACUC including the the IACUC 101 series, workshops and conferences, the ICARE project for the IACUCs, webinars and podcasts.
- U.S Department of Agriculture (USDA)The USDA provides a workshop called "Meeting the Requirements of the Animal Welfare Act" aimed at providing an overview of the Animal Welfare Act, protocol development and additional policies and regulations. A self-paced option is also available provided by Oregon State University.
