OER - Anatomy Images and Video Databases

Digital Anatomist Project is developed by Dept. Biological Structure, University of Washington, Seattle. Contents include: 2-D and 3-D views of the brain from cadaver sections; Neuroanatomy Interactive Syllabus with 3-D graphics, MRI scans, tissue sections, gross specimens and dissections; 3-D views of thoracic organs reconstructed from 1 mm cryosections of a cadaver specimen; and 2-D and 3-D views of the knee from cadaver sections, MRI scans, and computer recontructions.

Gray's Anatomy of the Human body on Bartleby.com contains 1,247 vibrant engravings, with many in color, from the classic 1918 edition. The subject index of 13,000 entries ranges from the Antrum of Highmore to the Zonule of Zinn. Bartleby claims to provide "students, researchers and the intellectually curious with unlimited access to books and information on the Web, free of change".

A free virtual human anatomy website with detailed models of all human body systems. The site offers hundreds of interactive anatomy pictures and descriptions of thousands of objects in the body that allow users to learn about the anatomy and physiology of the region or object in focus. Browse by general region of the body, or by specific anatomical structure.

The Visible Human Project® is an outgrowth of the NLM's 1986 Long-Range Plan. It is the creation of complete, anatomically detailed, three-dimensional representations of the normal male and female human bodies. Acquisition of transverse CT, MR and cryosection images of representative male and female cadavers has been completed. The male was sectioned at one millimeter intervals, the female at one-third of a millimeter intervals.
