Measurement Instruments for Research, Education, and Clinical Practice: REDCap Shared Library

REDCap Shared Library

The REDCap Shared Library is a repository for REDCap data collection instruments and forms that can be downloaded and used by researchers at REDCap partner institutions.  The public-facing search for items that have already been curated and approved is at https://redcap.vanderbilt.edu/consortium/library/search.php

There are over 2000 instruments in 11 languages in the Shared Library.  See example below of searching for everything in Spanish

Instruments that have been shared locally by REDCap end users at Mount Sinai can also be searched within REDCap. If there is a validated instrument that you would like to have included in the REDCap Shared Library, you can suggest a validated instrument for library inclusion. To determine if your instrument of interest has been validated, you can search the literature databases described below for articles reporting on the psychometrics/validity/reliability of the instrument. The Levy Library staff can assist with search strategies to identify these studies.

Accessing PDFs of Instruments in REDCap

  1. Login to REDCap using your Mount Sinai credentials.
  2. Create a new test project.
  3.  In the Project Setup tab, scroll down to Design your data collection instrument. Click on the REDCap Instrument Library button.
  4. Search for the instrument using the keyword search box. You'll now be able to view and download PDFs after signing the user agreement when prompted.
