- Sharing Clinical Trial Data byCall Number: E-BookISBN: 0309316308Publication Date: 2015-04-20Data sharing can accelerate new discoveries by avoiding duplicative trials, stimulating new ideas for research, and enabling the maximal scientific knowledge and benefits to be gained from the efforts of clinical trial participants and investigators.
- Responsible Genomic Data Sharing byCall Number: E-BookISBN: 9780128163399Publication Date: 2020-03-14Responsible Genomic Data Sharing: Challenges and Approaches brings together international experts in genomics research, bioinformatics and digital security who analyze common challenges in genomic data sharing, privacy preserving technologies, and best practices for large-scale genomic data sharing.
Sharing Your Data
There are several considerations when planning to share data:
- Copyright
- Sensitive or confidential data
- Compliance with regulations
- Compliance with IRBs
Sharing data has many benefits, including disseminating new research discoveries, supporting collaboration, bringing up citation rates and research impact, and showing researchers what data is already out there. Data can be shared in a variety of venues, including repositories, on a personal or laboratory website, or as part of a supplement to a journal article.

- Slides from Research Data Sharing PresentationThese are the slides from the video above. The learning objectives covered include: Exploring how data management and sharing (DMS) encourages principles of findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability; specific to the NIH DMS plan, attendees will be able to identify relevant metadata elements and standards and develop sample documentation to prepare data for sharing via a repository.
