Research Data Management and Sharing: Data Availability Statements
A guide for researchers on how to manage and share the data they generate.
Data Availability Statements
Data availability statements tell the reader of an article where accompanying data can be found, if there are legal or ethical restrictions on public access, and if there are restrictions, how researchers may request access. If applicable, links to the data sets will be included in this statement.
These statements are important for:
- Data validation
- Reproducibility and reuse of information
- Preservation of data
- Citation and increasing visibility and recognition of authors and research
