How to Convert Content to Alternate Format (Ally File Transformer)

Overview

"File Transformer" allows you to upload a course file and download it in an alternative format, including audio. This way, you can personalize your learning experience to better fit your needs, devices, and learning preferences.

After uploading your file, pick an alternative format that best suits your current task or situation. You can pick and mix formats too.

Instructions

  • Log into Blackboard
  • Select the Assist tool from the left hand menu
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Ally File Transformer

  • Click Browse to upload your file or drag and drop your file into the outlined box.

Supported file types include:
PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, HTML

  • Click the box to verify you are not a robot
  • Select Transform My File

  • Select the alternative file type you want and click download
  • One of the alternate files you can select is Audio

Alternative formats Include:

  • Tagged PDF (Only available for PDF files)
  • HTML
  • ePub
  • Electronic Braille
  • Audio
  • BeeLine Reader
