Why Zotero?

 Zotero users can:

  • Access their Zotero account from any web-enabled computer.
  • Collaborate on group projects. 
  • Import references from hundreds of databases.
  • Attach PDFs and other files types to references.
  • Format in-text citations and create bibliographies automatically.
  • Choose from hundreds of output styles (including AMA, APA, and Vancouver) or create a custom output style for submission to a particular journal.
  • Post references online and share information with other researchers, faculty members, or students.

Getting Started with Zotero

In addition to Zotero's desktop app, you will also have access to your Zotero library online at, allowing you to read attached articles, add references, and organize your library from anywhere with an internet connection.
