Educational Technology

Educational Technology at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine promotes students’ success by aligning educational innovation with learning goals.

We support Mount Sinai’s mission by collaborating with educators to integrate augmented and artificial intelligence (AI), evidence-based resources, critical thinking, and cognitive theory into the curriculum. We foster a dynamic, inclusive environment that improves teaching efficiency and self-directed learning. Explore our site for partnerships, direction, and collaboration opportunities.

Our Strategy: Mount Sinai’s educational technology strategy focuses on providing the tools and training that inspire and enable innovative teaching. We collaborate with instructors to design, execute, and evaluate the impact of projects aimed at transforming innovative teaching and learning. Our contributions amplify curricular transformation, optimize the use of time and resource investments, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, impactful learning.

Featured Collaboration:

In collaboration with Dr. Staci Leisman, Director of Undergraduate Medical Education PreClerkship Curriculum, we developed an interactive nephrology exercise, incorporating gamification principles grounded in learning theory.

This provided the learner with additional practice on challenging content, contributing to their educational experience and enhancing mastery of complex material.
