"Annals of Global Health" Publishes Africa-Focused Issue

Annals of Global Health, published formerly as The Mount Sinai Journal of Medicine, is a peer-reviewed, Open Access Journal focused on global health. The journal’s mission is to advance and disseminate knowledge of global health, promote research and foster the prevention and treatment of disease worldwide by supporting open dissemination and lively discourse about a wide range of the most important topics in global health and medicine.

The most recent issue of Annals of Global Health (Volume 84 - Issue 1 - 2018) focuses on health, research and education issues in Africa. The issue's content ranges from articles such as "Group Mentorship Model to Enhance the Efficiency and Productivity of PhD Research Training in Sub-Saharan Africa" to "Racial or Ethnic Health Disparities among Older Adults in Four Population Groups in South Africa."

One of the most popular pieces in this issue, an editorial titled "Linkage of the Medical Education Partnership Initiative (MEPI) and the Nursing Education Partnership Initiative (NEPI) to the African Forum for Research and Education in Health (AFREhealth)," has been viewed 476 times and downloaded 113 times.

According to a study by the University of Washington, the number of women authors in scientific publishing was only 30% in 2010. Clearly, a change is in order.

Join us or a special talk with Rebecca Cooney, North American Executive Editor of The Lancet, on gender disparities within scientific publishing.

The keynote will be followed by an interdisciplinary panel of experts focused on how we can tackle this issue together.

Levy Library Hours Update: Early Opening and Closure on Saturday, March 29 - plan ahead!

Please be advised that due to a planned electrical shutdown and maintenance in the Annenberg Building, the Levy Library will have adjusted hours on Saturday, March 29, 2025.Adjusted Levy Library HoursTo accommodate building-wide electrical maintenance, Levy Library will have adjusted hours and access over the weekend.
