Levy Library is excited to announce the hiring of our new Reference and Instruction Librarian at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai! Rebecca Shows comes to Levy with 8 years of experience in libraries and technology. She provides research assistance and instruction and offers expertise in citation management to the Mount Sinai academic and clinical communities.
A native Texan, Rebecca studied Creative Writing and subsequently earned her MS in Information Science at the University of North Texas. In previous roles, she provided services in public and college libraries before joining a library technology firm to implement image management software on higher education campuses throughout the U.S. Her most recent experience is in independent practice as a birth and palliative doula in New York City hospitals and private residences. She shares her passion for medical humanities as a curator for the Levy Library Mindful Medicine series and will join the Mount Sinai Doula Program this fall.
Rebecca is located in the Levy Library on the 11th floor of the Annenberg building. We welcome Rebecca and look forward to her contributions to Mount Sinai!
