Updates on Mask Requirements in the Library

by Kerry McKee on 2022-05-18T16:09:48-04:00 in Library News | 0 Comments

With cases still on the rise in the area, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has designated the city as having a “high” community alert for COVID-19. This triggers some policy changes regarding mask and social distancing requirements for the Mount Sinai Health System.

Effective immediately, masks are now required to be worn in all non-clinical spaces which includes all library spaces and classrooms in the Levy Library, Mount Sinai West Library, and Mount Sinai Morningside Information Commons. This is consistent with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance, which recommends masking in all public spaces in high-community-level areas.

What does this mean?

  • Wear a mask in all public study zones and computer area
  • Wear a mask when attending a meeting, class, or group study session
  • Wear a mask when using one of the library's public restrooms

You can read more about the current COVID-19 policies for non-clinical spaces HERE.

We thank you for following these policies and doing you part to help keep everyone safe at Mount Sinai!
