Circulation Services: Printing, Copying, & Phone Charging

The Circulation Department manages the availability and circulation of Levy Library's print and audiovisual collections.The Department also provides services such as renewing books and distributing copy cards.

Levy Library Hours

Scanning

The Library provides a self-service document scanning station with a flatbed and multi-document scanner. Patrons have the ability to send their scanned documents to a USB device, email, Dropbox, or Google Drive account.

Fax Services

Fax services are available at the Service Desk when Circulation Services are available. The charge to send a fax is $1 per page. There is no charge to receive a fax.

Print, Copy, Scan

PRINT and COPY

Levy Library offers five print release/copy stations that are found in the at the following locations:

  • 11th floor, Annenberg Building beside the computing facilities (B&W, Color)
  • 13th floor, Annenberg Building beside the study study area (B&W)
  • 1st floor, Aron Hall inside the student lounge (B&W)

Copy cards are needed to order to print or copy from any Library-managed printers/copiers. Copy cards may be purchased at the Circulation Services Desk during Circulation operating hours. Print cards can be used for all photocopying and printing 

 
SCAN

A free self-service document scanning station with a flatbed and multi-document scanner is available inside the Levy Library, beside the computing facilities.  Patrons have the ability to send their scanned documents to a USB device, email, Dropbox, or Google Drive account.

 

Cost and Eligibility

PRINTING

Printer Release Stations only accept funds from library-issued copy cards.

Black & White Printers

  • Card cost per side = $0.10
  • Paper: Letter (8.5″ x 11″)
  • Paper: Legal (8.5" x 14")

Color Printers

  • Card cost per side = $1.00
  • Paper: Letter (8.5″ x 11″)

 

COPY CARDS

The price of a card alone is $1.00 – with no added value for copies.  Additional value must to be added in order to use the card for copying or printing. 

NOTE: Patrons are encouraged to keep the value on their Copy Card relatively low because if the card is lost or stolen, the value cannot be added back or refunded onto the card.

 
ADD FUNDS TO A COPY CARD

Additional value may be added to a copy card by transferring credit or debit funds at the Circulation Services desk. No cash is accepted. 

 

ICAHN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE 

MD and MD/PhD Students: A copy card is issued to all MD and MD/PhD students upon entering the School of Medicine. 

Graduate Students: All students registered in a Graduate program are required to purchase a copy card in order to use library printing services. 

Note that all students receive a discounted rate for printing. The adjustment is automatically applied to each student account. 

 
ISMMS and MSHS Employees/Visiting Students/Volunteers

All MSHS and ISMMS employees, visiting students, faculty, fellows,  and residents, and volunteers are required to purchase a copy card in order to use the library's printing services. 

Wireless Printing

Students, faculty and staff of the Mount Sinai Medical Center can print from a wireless enabled laptop computer to one of the public printers in the Levy Library or on Annenberg 12 or 13.

Phone Charging

For user convenience the Library has a phone charging unit (Bright Box) on the 11th floor of the Library. Charging is free or charge, though a credit card is needed to act as a key. The Bright Box is compatible with many mobile phones, including Apple, Samsung, and Blackberry.
