Web of Science: Using a Citation Database: Cited Reference Search
Cited Reference Searching
If you want to find every citation to your paper in the Web of Science (e.g. to report on an evaluation or application form), use the Cited Reference Search option.
- The Cited Reference Search allows you to discover citations to a publication even if an author cited it using incorrect information, i.e., citation variants.
- A cited reference search is also the only way in Web of Science to discover research publications that cite a known report, patent, newspaper article or other non-journal item.
- Unfortunately, the results of a Cited Reference Search cannot be used in a Citation Report to calculate an author's h-index.
