Levy Library, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Every year, the Mount Sinai Health System Libraries selects a theme to focus our outreach efforts and activities. 2018 has been deemed the Year of Mental Health. By connecting with individual groups, centers, and institutions, we develop a greater understanding of our users information needs, whether they be related to research, education, or resources. In 2016 (Year of the Nurse) the library worked to develop a library/nursing education steering committee, offered the seminar NextGen Nursing: Advances in Nursing Technology & Research, and piloted two key nursing databases with an accompanying training series. Last year (Year of Public Health) we collaborated with the Master of Public Health Program at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on a professional development seminar ((Emerging Careers in MPH: Consulting), conducted a focus group for Masters in Public Health students, and offered a public health themed Mindful Medicine event (Let’s Talk About Trauma: In Health Care), in addition to many other activities.

We look forward to working closely with Mount Sinai Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry and strengthening our relationships with all Psychiatry and Mental Health divisions across the Mount Sinai Health System.
